What Is an Oshibori Towel?
An oshibori is a wet towel offered to guests as a gesture of welcome. The practice has roots in Japan's tea houses and inns, where travellers were handed a warm, wrung cloth to refresh themselves after a journey. The word itself comes from shiboru, meaning to wring.
